I have a similar problem on two Macs. I've downloaded the CiscoWebExAdd-On.dmg multiple times, but the Installer silently fails. I've attempted with both Firefox and Safari. I know nothing is being installed as I have run OS tools to determine changed files, baselining before the install, then running again after. I'm in the same boat. As others have states before, CiscoWebExAdd-On.exe does not install. Trying to install the add-on does nothing (no screen, no windows process, nothing). The WebEx extension doesn't work either. The only thing that works for Chrome 64 is downloading the 'Temporary application' each time I go to join a meeting.

An alternate host must be someone with a Webex Meetings host account at UW Madison. You can designate one or multiple alternate host for a single meeting, or for a series of reoccurring meetings.

A meeting cannot begin unless a host starts the meeting. If for some reason the host cannot start the meeting then the meeting cannot take place for anyone (participants). It may be advantageous to designate an alternate host. Only a UW Madison Webex Meetings account holder can be selected as an alternate host. They will receive an email saying they have been selected as an alternate host.

Designating an Alternate Host using Cisco Webex Productivity Tools (Outlook Desktop Client)

1. Select Schedule Webex Meeting in the menu bar

2. Enter the meetings details and add attendees in the To: field

3. Navigate to Change Settings in the menu bar

4. Under the Resource tab select the attendee you would like to add as an alternate host

Note - If you do not see the name you wish to select under Change Settings, Resource tab, then you have not entered their email in the To: field when starting the message. Close out of Change Settings and go back to the To: field and enter their primary email from UW Madison.

1. Sign in to uwmadison.webex.com

2. Select the Schedule button

3. Enter an attendee's name and select the 'Make this attendee an alternate host' button

Blurring your background makes your surroundings appear out of focus so people can't see the details of what's going on behind you. Alternatively, you can completely replace your surroundings with one of the preset backgrounds, or add one of your own.

Your Webex site administrator must enable virtual backgrounds for your site in order to use them.

Having issues or don't see the Change Background option? Check the list of requirements to make sure your Webex version and computer or device support virtual backgrounds.

Using a virtual background increases the CPU usage of your computer or mobile device and therefore may impact your battery life.

On Mac or Windows, you can use virtual backgrounds in meetings and events using the Webex Meetings desktop app.

and then do one of the following:

To blur your surroundings while remaining in focus, click Blur.
To use a default virtual background, click the one you want.
To use your own image for the virtual background, tap the + icon.

We recommend that you use an image that's 1280 × 720 pixels in size or larger. Images must be in the .jpg or .png format.

During a Meeting

In your self-view window, click the Video options icon, choose Change Virtual Background, and do one of the following:
- To blur your surroundings while remaining in focus, click Blur.
- To use a default virtual background, click the one you want.
- To use your own image for the virtual background, tap the + icon.
When you're ready for everyone in the meeting to see your background, click Apply. Webex remembers your selection for your next meeting.
